The DIY Business Association Conference hits Brooklyn this Sunday, June 26. Created by Amy Schroeder, founder of Venus Zine magazine, and with guests speakers including Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge and Susan Gregg Koger of ModCloth.com, this conference will be the who’s who of creative entrepreneurship. Summer Sessions on the Square, the monthly outdoor summer concert series in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, kicks off this Saturday night. With music curated by local cocktail haven, The Whistler, you can expect to see acts like Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, Rabble Rabble, and Girls Rock! Chicago. Show Your Pride!
Headed to Chicago’s LGBT Pride Parade this Sunday? Be sure to check out the ACLU of Illinois float. They’re celebrating a big year—the recent passage of the civil union bill and their induction into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame— by handing out 10,000 free buttons to parade-goers from their first ever parade float.
