Seth Godin, the title of your new business manifesto is just downright naughty. Poke the Box? Oh my! You make a southern gal blush!
Poke the Box is the first title from Seth Grodin’s new publishing venture, The Domino Project. Powered by Amazon, The Domino Project will “simultaneously publish in Kindle, audiobook and hardcover format in every country where Amazon has a presence.” Grodin’s fresh approach to production and distribution might just be what saves the struggling industry book publishing industrythat, and of course, creative marketing with 1-inch square buttons.

Poke the Box is now available on Amazon.com. To get your own creative marketing campaign going, shop now at busybeaver.net

“I have seen the future of rock and roll, and it’s merch,” wrote Rob Walker in this New York Times article. Custom buttons make great band merch, but SXSW isn’t just about the music. The festival also hosts film screenings, an interactive conference, and tons of parties and networking opportunities. Beyond the band merch, here are 10 reasons you should button up in time for SXSW.

1. Network! Give to new acquaintances as evidence they met you.
2. Promote your blog at the interactive conference with custom buttons.
3. Make wearable souvenirs for trade show visitors.
4. Promote your documentary with custom text buttons.
5. Create re-usable name tags for any conference with an order of buttons and a dry erase marker.
6. Get free whiskey! Make a button that asks someone to buy you a drink at wear to all the parties.
7.  Make a button with your contact info as a business card.
8. Promote your indie film with avant garde buttons.
9. Get noticed! Make a fashion statement.
10. You are in Texas— find out who shot J.R.

This week, via their website, the White Stripes announced their break-up. The Busy Beavers are huge fans of Meg and Jack; Jack White’s record label, Third Man Records, is a long-time client and one of our faves. We’re sorry to see the end of an era, but we wish Meg and Jack the best in their future projects. Here’s a look back at a couple White Stripes buttons Busy Beaver produced for their Icky Thump album:

Spring is here.  Tulips bloom, ice melts, and the jean jacket makes its triumphant return to Chicago.  But in Austin Texas, March means one thing:  South By Southwest!

Busy Beaver Button Co. salutes all of its button-lovers partying down south.  What are you doing right now?  Watching the Pains of Being Pure at Heart?  Eating grilled cactus?  Rubbing elbows with Iggy?

Make friends with Busy Beaver on Twitter to let us know what you’re doing.  Do you need your custom button order over-nighted to your hotel?  You’re not alone.

Have fun everybody!
