Christen Carter founded Busy Beaver Button Co. back in 1995, and you can read her story in McSweeney’s Interviews With People Who Have Interesting or Unusual Jobs here.

She cites a favorite button from the 1920s of a flapper looking at herself in the mirror.  The “metamorphic” style button is shown above, and lives in the “Art” section of the Busy Beaver Button Museum.
